Plasterboard

Home 9 Plasterboard

If you are constructing a new building, or extending or renovating an existing one, it’s likely that you will be needing some plasterboard – perhaps rather a lot.
Like so many of our favourite building materials, plasterboard came about as a cheaper, faster and more efficient alternative to an existing practice. Before plasterboard, the traditional means of finishing an interior wall was lath and plaster, which was a time consuming method requiring considerable skill. In the late 19th century, several manufacturers began using gypsum plaster to make products we would today recognise as plasterboard.
The advantages of the new material were obvious, and the use of lath and plaster quickly disappeared, except for jobs where historical authenticity demands the restoration of a building exactly as it was originally made.

We supply dry and wet plasterboard in one size.
